Welcome
Professor Stephens' research activities focus on atmospheric radiation including the application of remote sensing in climate research to understand the role of hydrological processes in climate change. He also serves as the primary investigator (PI) of the NASA CloudSat Mission launched in 2006 to study the internal structure of clouds using a millimeter radar. Professor Stephens has published more than 150 papers in referreed journals and is the author of a text book on remote sensing. In August 2008, Professor Stephens was named director of CIRA (Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere). |
